To grow its economy, Georgia is focusing on developing three of its major industries--tourism and hospitality, global commerce through the Ports of Savannah and Brunswick, and the film and entertainment industry. According to information from the Georgia Department of Labor, a number of careers are expected to be in demand from 2008 through 2018. Registered nurses are projected to have the most job openings per year in Georgia with 3,470; on average, they had annual wages in 2010 of $60,900. Elementary teachers are second on the list with 2,510 openings per year and 2010 earnings of $52,400. A number of Georgia hot jobs are in "green" industries; careers include marketing and construction managers, financial analysts and logisticians, public relations and training and development specialists and industrial engineers.
