Unlike career-oriented majors, in which the career path to follow is fairly well-defined, liberal arts majors help students design their own career paths. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, social workers should see 16 job growth between 2008 and 2018, while teachers should see 13 percent job growth, and graphic designers should see 13 percent job growth.
