Online Health Degrees and Careers
Healthcare is a vast industry offering hundreds of thousands of jobs in very many areas, including physical therapy school and occupational therapy school. Most healthcare jobs require some qualifications, and these vary widely according to job.
Nurses must graduate from an approved degree program and pass a national examination to obtain a nursing license. Physical therapists must graduate from an approved physical therapy school and are also required to pass a licensure exam after obtaining their physical therapy school degree.
Occupational therapists must earn at least a bachelor's degree from an occupational therapy school or other approved college and then pass a certification exam. (From 2007, a master's degree from an occupational therapy school will be the required minimum.)
There are also career opportunities in massage therapy, and alternative therapies such as naturopathy, holistic medicine, and herbology. Programs may be offered by specialist schools and lead to a degree, diploma, or certificate. It is important to check what the requirements to practice are in the state where you intend to work.
