Biology degree programs involve the study of life, in all its different forms -- plants, marine life, mammals -- and all its different processes. Biology students learn about evolutionary biology (the father of evolutionary theory, Charles Darwin, majored in biology), and the chemistry and genetics that make up life. Typically, and often preferably for employers, biology majors need to complete postgraduate degrees in order to hold positions in medicine, pharmacology, or biological research. However, biology degree programs provide an excellent overview that is a good foundation for a career path.
