Through return on investment, cost-benefit, and other analyses, CTOs evaluate and determine how to introduce the latest technology into a company. MIS or IT directors, meanwhile, supervise the implementation of new projects and ensure the availability and resilience of corporate data and information technology services. IT project managers develop requirements, budgets, and schedules and work with colleagues, vendors and consultants to implement new projects, such as information security updates. Information systems managers earned a $120,640 mean annual wage in 2009, according to the BLS.
