Finally it's time to go back to school and earn that degree you've always wanted for a better future for yourself. The problem is that your family is no longer willing to pay all that fees which is needed to earn that piece of paper. However, all is not lost. There are numerous varieties of unit ways in order to earn that college degrees.
There is a misconception that the only way in order to attend college for a little or no money is by getting a full scholarship. Scholarships are quite helpful, particularly if they pay all the amount needed. The problem arises when it only pays a part of your education studies. Say that you received a scholarship from Colton university to attend college. The scholarship is for $2000 only and the college has already decided to awarded you $6000 of its financial aid service. Where I come from, $2000 + $6000 should be eight thousand dollars.
However, and this is key for your needs, you may still very well be at $6000. Why? Because the college has already decided the financial aid it finds suitable for you to get from all sources available. Don't be surprised if it decided to take back two thousand dollars of its money to compensate for the thousand dollars you have just received.
What can you do? Firstly don't give up on scholarships requests, but pay full attention to the other available options. There are numerous varieties of ways to earn units and/or degrees for a cheaper price.
Military Service - Have of 2 year of experience, most universities will accommodate you for that.
Examinations - A good GRE score can save you up to 30 credit units.
Cheap credit units - Let's say in California community colleges will grant you a course for as low as $18.
Transferring Credits from Various Sources - Let the use of the three options above may deduct your learning by 50 credits.
